Private sale receipt (bill of sale) for a car or other item – free template (UK)
When you sell privately, the goods must match your description and you must not mislead the buyer. Unlike a shop, a private seller does not have to guarantee quality, so selling "as seen" is normal. For a car, tell the DVLA online that you have sold it and give the buyer the green "new keeper" slip (V5C/2).
