Business information for your website, emails and letters – free template (UK)

UK websites do not need an "Impressum". But every online business must show its name, a geographic address, an email address and its VAT number if registered. Companies and LLPs must also show their registered name, number, place of registration and registered office on their website, emails, letters and order forms.

Legal basis: Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) Regulations 2002, reg. 6; Company, Limited Liability Partnership and Business (Names and Trading Disclosures) Regulations 2015, regs. 24–25; Companies Act 2006, s. 1202 · Legal position: October 2026

Questions

Is this template really free?

Yes. Pflichtblatt is free, has no ads, no sign-up and no tracking. Everything you type stays in your browser; the PDF is created on your device.

What does “VAT registration” mean?

You must register for VAT with HMRC once your taxable turnover goes over £90,000 in 12 months. You can register voluntarily below that. A UK VAT number starts with GB and has 9 digits. The standard rate is 20%.

What does “Companies House & registered office” mean?

Limited companies and LLPs are registered at Companies House. The company number, the full registered name and the registered office address must appear on your website, invoices and letters. Sole traders and partnerships leave these fields empty.
